ABACAN is a variation of the nearly 3000 year old Chinese mathematical game of Nim. To play, players alternate turns sliding 1,2, or 3 beads on the same bar from one side of the game to the other. The winner is the player who forces their opponent to move the last bead.

The rules have been drafted so that there is always a winner, not ties, stalemates, or cat's games. Hand crafted from high quality hardwoods, ABACAN is pretty enough to be left out on the coffee table or bookshelf to be played again and again.

Description: New York Times bestselling author and mathemetician Danica McKellar tackles all the angles—and curves—of geometry

In her three previous bestselling books Math Doesn't Suck, Kiss My Math, and Hot X: Algebra Exposed!, actress and math genius Danica McKellar shattered the “math nerd” stereotype by showing girls how to ace their math classes and feel cool while doing it.

Sizzling with Danica's trademark sass and style, her fourth book, Girls Get Curves, shows her readers how to feel confident, get in the driver's seat, and master the core concepts of high school geometry, including congruent triangles, quadrilaterals, circles, proofs, theorems, and more!

Combining reader favorites like personality quizzes, fun doodles, real-life testimonials from successful women, and stories about her own experiences with illuminating step-by-step math lessons, Girls Get Curves will make girls feel like Danica is their own personal tutor.

As hundreds of thousands of girls already know, Danica's irreverent, lighthearted approach opens the door to math success and higher scores, while also boosting their self-esteem in all areas of life. Girls Get Curves makes geometry understandable, relevant, and maybe even a little (gasp!) fun for girls.

Author: Timothy Hyde
Price: $30.00 (Lybrary.com)
Product type: eBook (PDF)

Description: Imagine being able to recall the details of every page of a current magazine with astonishing accuracy! This astounding feat is the sole focus of Timothy Hyde's ebook, Magazine Memory: The Secret Notebooks of Mr. Hyde Volume 2. Having performed this routine himself before paying audiences for years, Timothy Hyde is well suited to teach this routine.

Magazine Memory doesn't presume any previous knowledge of memory systems, and guides you from the very basics. Once you're familiar with the basics, you don't just learn the method of memorizing the magazine. Timothy Hyde teaches you how to build this memory feat into a full show piece by helping you through the presentation as well.

The classic magazine memory feat is so strong that many magicians, mentalists, and memory experts have used it to close their shows. Trade show performers have used it to memorize their client's catalogs, allowing them to entertain their audiences while pitching the client's products!

The best part of this routine is that you're actually doing what you claim to be doing! There are no hidden microphones or other gimmicks. You're simply and truthfully using your memory to recall the contents of an entire magazine.

This routine involves the whole audience and is fun engaging, and amazing. It plays big, and all you need to carry are enough copies of the publication to spread among your audience. If you're using a weekly news magazine, you can tear up the pages and spread them through the audience. Alternatively, when using a client's catalog, everyone should get a complete copy.

Even though there's only 50 pages in Magazine Memory, the pages are packed with one of the most powerful performance routines you can ever learn, making this a great value for the money.

Price: $29.95 (Lybrary.com)
Product type: eBook (PDF or EPUB)

Description: Persi Diaconis, the Stanford professor who discovered that 7 riffle shuffles are the minimum required to properly mix the deck, and Ron Graham, the UCSD professor who popularized the Erdős number concept (The mathematical world's equivalent of a Kevin Bacon number), have just released a much-talked about book titled Magical Mathematics.

Unlike many books of math-based magic effects, which simply describe the effect and then teach the method, Magical Mathematics goes a step further by examining the principles behind each routine in detail!

Each chapter focuses on a single principle, so that a full understanding can be developed. This detailed examination can spark your own creativity by suggesting variations. You'll also see how many of the principles are used in the real world, beyond just the performing of magic routines!

Martin Gardner himself wrote the foreword before he passed away, and you can read his thoughts in the preview below.

To master any magic routine requires time, effort, and understanding. If you're willing to provide the time and effort, Magical Mathematics goes a long way in aiding the understanding of the material.
